Tyler Texas Real Estate – Value and Investment Opportunities

While real estate as a whole has suffered, and houses throughout the country are remaining unsold or are selling extremely slowly, East Texas (and Tyler, in particular), has attracted new buyers and real estate investors, resulting in one of the smallest reductions in Texas home prices in the nation. The result has been more of an adjustment than an actual drop.

Tyler’s recreational properties, and especially lakefront homes, continue to catch the interest of investors and buyers who know that real estate in the Tyler area offers a winning combination of price and investment opportunities. The slowdown that was experienced nationally due to the US Elections improved the moment the results came in and some measure of confidence returned in the financial markets.

In Texas, internet searches for Texas Land for Sale, Texas Real Estate, and Texas properties dropped by 70% in the months of September and October, and home purchases almost halted. The situation changed considerably by November, as searches began an upward trend. Overall, Tyler real estate took a hit, but not nearly as badly as the rest of the country, and is showing positive signs of recovering more quickly.

House prices are beginning to rise as Tyler house buyers and sellers are anxious to close deals and begin the process of moving on to their next Texas property. Searches, according to industry metric company, ComScore, are up again, indicating a resurgence of interest, and Tyler property buyers are coming back into the market. As of March, 2010, the Google search for Texas Real Estate was 823,000 compared to Michigan’s 301,000.

While some say the recession is over, a look at the world’s economy would indicate that this isn’t entirely accurate. However, Tyler, Texas has been fortunate to attract buyers and investors eager to grab bargains at what are clearly the best prices we’ll see for quite awhile. As long as Tyler real estate agents are seeing increased activity, though, it seems that recovery is coming more quickly to Tyler, and Texas in general, than to other parts of the country and the world.
