Four Forms Of Letters Used In The Realm Of Employment

When new college grads and other job-seeking adults search for a job, they write up a resume and submit it to the employees.

While a cover letter is important to some, it is also optional in some employer’s eyes. Regardless, it is viewed at as a polite and classy gesture that all future employers look at in a positive light.

There are four different types of letters used within the realm of employment.

Cover Letter- While this is not a ‘must’ for applying for a job; it definitely adds some professionalism and accent to your resume and application. While some people just email their resume in with a quick one-liner, a cover letter goes beyond that.

With jobs hard to come by, you want your resume to stand out as much as possible. This is why you need to go the extra mile, and take the extra step to ensure that your resume stands out from the rest. A cover letter helps to make you stand out, as it displays your writing style, personality, and experience. It shows you are serious about the job.

Thank You Letter- this is a very self-explanatory title. After any sort of meeting or interview with a prospective employer, make sure that you end a letter thanking them for their time. It will show your appreciation, even if you don’t think the interview went well.

Acceptance Letter- After you have been given a job offer be sure to submit a letter thanking them for the job opportunity that they have provided and offered you. Even if you confirm this in person or over the phone, sending a letter is very professional.

Declination Letter- When you decide not to accept a job position, it is important that you thank them nonetheless so that they know you appreciate the opportunity and also so that you can keep the relationship with the company and employer friendly and on good terms.
