There are different laws depending on where you live as to if you have to have a license to operate a boat. In Canada you have to have a pleasure craft operators card. You can get this card by either taking a course in a classroom, taking a course online, or just taking the test without taking a course. If you have taken boating safety classes then you will be able to take the test without taking the course first. Boats are great for summer recreation fun but they can be dangerous if they are not operated properly.

It is a good idea to take a boating safety class even if you do have your boating license or pleasure craft operators card. The boating class is not mandatory if you have a boating license to operate a boat but it is a good idea if you want to be safe.

Boats get used for many different reasons, some people use them for doing water sports and some people use them for leisure time. It will not matter what you are using the boat for because if you do not drive it right then it can be very dangerous.
