Keep It Organized And Spring Cleaning Will Be Simple

Most people dread the idea of spring cleaning. By keeping it simple and organized, it will not become an overwhelming chore. Start by making a list. The most important jobs should be near the top of the list, but starting with something simple may create the motivation to do more. Whenever possible, work from the top down. Choose a warm day that permits opening all of the windows.

* Clean all draperies – Remove all curtains from the house and have them cleaned or laundered according to the labeled instructions. While the windows are bare, dust and wash the sills and entire surrounding area.

* Wash the glass – Windows that fold in order for easier washing should have both sides done at the same time. Those that do not should have the outsides left for another day.

* Clean walls from ceiling to floor – This job sounds much more time consuming than it needs to be. A mop bucket an unused sponge mop will help to complete this task surprisingly quickly. A simple bleach and water mixture will leave things sparkling.

* Dusting and polishing – Remove items from all flat surfaces and dust or wash them. Follow by dusting and waxing the bare surface and then return each item to its location. This is the perfect time to experiment with rearranging a room.

* Clean sofa, chairs, and mattresses – Remove all bedding, and cushions from sofas and chairs. Place the bedding into the wash and begin vacuuming mattresses, each cushion, and the surfaces that lie beneath them. This is a good time to inspect furniture for tears and stains.

* Wash floors – Clean carpets, wash tile or linoleum, and wax wooden floors. This will give the entire house a sparkling new look. By sticking to a simple list, spring cleaning is easier than ever before.
