Using your Cordless Drill in the Kitchen – 7 Tips for Success

Eating will never go out of fashion. We will always need a place in the home where we can easily and safely prepare our food. We call that place the kitchen. So let’s look at how we can best enjoy this room.

There is also the fact that most kitchens simply do not provide the adequate shelving and space to put all the cutlery and utensils that you will be using and so it becomes necessary to make space or work out what you are no longer using. Of course if you have a Makita cordless drill handy then adding that extra bit of space or a new shelf is really not that hard at all.

Here are a few tips to help make your kitchen a better, safer and more efficient place to work in.

1. Lighting is by far the most important aspect of the kitchen, and although it is obviously required from a safety point of view, it is available in so many styles that it really can make or break the overall look of your kitchen.

2. Hard wearing flooring that’s easy to clean is another essential. Carpeting on floors surrounding kitchen worktops is a big mistake.

3. If you want to organize the kitchen on your terms then you are going to need power sockets – and lots of them. Make them available in all areas of the kitchen so you are not restricted by what goes where. Read the toaster and the kettle and the coffee machine.

4. Have all your regularly used utensils stored close to the areas where they will be used. This increases efficiency and reduces accidents.

5. The type of sink you choose may seem insignificant at the time but think about the layout of your kitchen and what best suits your needs first.

6. The type of taps on your sink is important too. Get taps with plenty of height. The swivelling type adds flexibility, but you may prefer the look of double taps. Again, think about what you want.

7. The Kitchen can be unsafe for toddlers and infants so make sure that all electrical items and sharp objects are stored out of reach at all times. It is also advisable to put child locks on the cupboards.
